Akkineni Heroes In Need Of A Serious Retrospection!

It is quite common for heroes to have bad phases in their careers. Currently, the Akkineni heroes are going through such a period. King Nagarjuna arrived with ‘Ghost’ during the Dasara season of 2022. This action flick which was directed by Praveen Sattaru turned out to be a disaster. It did not get good collections and the talk wasn’t encouraging too. Prior to that, Nagarjuna’s ‘Manmadhudu 2’ and ‘Wild Dog’ were also big failures.

Last year, Naga Chaitanya arrived with a slice-of-life drama named ‘Thank You’. Dil Raju produced it while Vikram Kumar directed this movie. It ended up being a big failure. Dil Raju lost a lot of money and Vikram Kumar is yet to start his new project. Young hero Akhil Akkineni too faced a huge disaster in the form of ‘Agent’.

Directed by Surender Reddy, this high-budget spy thriller was released on 28th April and the talk was very bad that it learned less than 10 crores while the movie was made on a budget of 80 crores. Akhil already had flops like ‘Akhil’, ‘Hello’, and ‘Mr. Majnu’ before. But people hoped for Naga Chaitanya to bounce back with ‘Custody’ as the story was quite interesting and the promos generated a lot of positive buzz.

But the movie which came out on Friday turned out to be a huge disappointment. Many are predicting that it will be a big failure in both Naga Chaitanya and Venkat Prabhu’s careers. Chaitanya’s plans to get launched in Bollywood with ‘Laal Singh Chadda’ failed as well. With the wrong script selection and execution, the movies ended up as huge debacles. The Akkineni heroes have to be very careful with their next projects. Otherwise, their market will go down even further. Hope that it never happens.

Multistarrer films have always enjoyed a special craze in Tollywood, especially when two top stars share screen space. Now, an exciting discussion has started making rounds in film circles about a possible dream collaboration featuring Mahesh Babu and Prabhas under the direction of Vamshi Paidipally.

According to industry buzz, Vamshi has been nurturing the idea of bringing the two superstars together for a massive multistarrer with a universal concept designed for global audiences. The director reportedly prepared a powerful storyline keeping in mind the growing international image of both actors.

Vamshi already shares a successful track record with Mahesh Babu after delivering the blockbuster Maharshi. He also maintains a good rapport with Prabhas, which has further fueled speculation about the ambitious project.
Currently, Mahesh Babu is busy working with S. S. Rajamouli on the much-awaited film Varanasi.

Trade analysts believe the project could elevate Mahesh’s image to a completely global level after release. Meanwhile, Prabhas has already expanded his international market with films like Kalki 2898 AD and the blockbuster Baahubali franchise.

Industry insiders feel Vamshi is carefully planning a subject that can match the scale and screen presence of both stars. The filmmaker is known for handling emotional and futuristic themes with sensitivity, as seen in Maharshi, where he explored concepts that later became highly relevant in today’s AI-driven world.

If the project materializes, it is expected to be mounted on a massive scale with a market potential running into thousands of crores. Vamshi’s earlier films like Oopiri also proved his ability to handle multistarrers with balanced character arcs and equal importance to every lead role.

Mahesh Babu’s classy and stylish persona combined with Prabhas’ powerful mass appeal could create an extraordinary cinematic experience if brought together on screen.

However, the project is still in the discussion stage and may take time to move forward. At present, Vamshi Paidipally is reportedly occupied with a Bollywood project starring Salman Khan. Once that film is completed, there is a possibility that he could begin work on this dream multistarrer.
