The makers of Ek Mini Katha, starring Santosh Shobhan Kavya Thapar in the lead roles have been contemplating direct to digital release for the film. They had recently opened talks with leading OTT platforms.
If the latest buzz is to go by, Amazon Prime Video has bagged the digital rights of Ek Mini Katha by shelling out Rs 9 crores.
The comedy caper was made on a tight budget and the makers are said to have minted twice the money they invested on the project by selling the direct to digital rights to Amazon Prime.
Ek Mini Katha is billed to be an adult comedy, a genre that is largely followed and consumed by digital audiences. So, Amazon paid such big bucks for the film.
The film is directed by Karthik Rapolu and produced by UV Concepts and Mango Mass Media.
