Pawan Kalyan Battula Watched Chiranjeevi Scene 150 Times For Purushah

A new young talent is all set to enter Tollywood with the upcoming family entertainer Purushah. Featuring Pawan Kalyan Battula in the lead role, the film is directed by Veeru Ulavala and produced by Battula Koteswara Rao. The movie is gearing up for a theatrical release on May 22 and promises a complete fun-filled family comedy experience.
As part of the film’s promotions, Pawan Kalyan Battula recently opened up about his acting journey and revealed an interesting detail about preparing for one of the movie’s comedy scenes. The debut actor shared that he watched a classic comedy sequence featuring Chiranjeevi nearly 150 times to perfect a drunken scene in the film.
Purushah features several well-known actors including Vennela Kishore, Rajeev Kanakala, Saptagiri, Kasireddy Rajkumar, and Rayanch Kokkura. Pawan said working alongside experienced performers helped him learn a lot about acting and comic timing during the shoot.
Speaking about the special comedy scene, the actor revealed that although he watched performances by many actors, he personally admires Megastar Chiranjeevi the most. He specifically studied a comedy sequence from the film Jai Chiranjeeva featuring Chiranjeevi and comedian Venu Madhav.
“I watched that scene almost 150 times,” Pawan revealed. “I closely observed Chiranjeevi garu’s body language, expressions, and timing to perform my drunken scene in Purushah.”
The young actor also shared the sentimental story behind his name. According to him, he was born around the time Gokulamlo Seeta was released. Later, after seeing the massive craze for Pawan Kalyan during the time of Thammudu, his father decided to name him Pawan Kalyan.
He further revealed that becoming a hero was his father’s dream, while he himself always had a strong passion for cinema. To prepare seriously for films, he underwent professional acting training under renowned acting coach Satyanand in Visakhapatnam.
Now, carrying the inspiration of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s acting and the sentimental connection of his own name, Pawan Kalyan Battula is stepping into Tollywood with high hopes through Purushah.
With the film releasing on May 22, audiences are now eager to see whether the much-talked-about drunken comedy scene — inspired by Chiranjeevi’s iconic timing — will deliver big laughs on the big screen.
