AP Politics: MAVIGUN Row Sparks Debate Over Amaravati Capital Issue

Share

Andhra Pradesh politics has once again taken center stage with the emergence of a new narrative involving MAVIGUN, reportedly floated by former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. According to his statement, those who support Amaravati are aligned with the TDP, while those who back him and MAVIGUN will support the YSRCP in the upcoming elections.

This remark quickly triggered sharp reactions on social media, drawing widespread trolling and criticism.

Amid this political buzz, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu responded to the broader debate during his visit to Kadapa, the home district of YS Jagan. Addressing a public meeting, he reaffirmed that Amaravati will remain the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh while assuring that all regions of the state will receive balanced development.

He emphasized that the NDA government is committed to inclusive growth and that Rayalaseema will also play a key role in the overall development agenda alongside Amaravati.

Chandrababu further reiterated his long-standing stance on decentralised development, highlighting that while Amaravati will function as the administrative capital, equal focus will be given to the development of both Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra regions. His remarks in Kadapa once again underlined his firm position on the state’s development roadmap.
