Vijay’s Jana Nayagan Gains Massive Buzz After Political Win

Thalapathy Vijay’s last film Jana Nayagan has suddenly regained massive commercial interest after his unexpected political rise.

The film, which was originally planned for a Sankranthi release, was delayed due to censor issues. Adding to its troubles, the movie was reportedly leaked just ahead of the elections, further complicating its release prospects. There were also reports that the OTT deal with Amazon Prime Video was dropped, leading to speculation about the film’s future and the producer’s setbacks.

However, Vijay’s recent political success has completely changed the scenario. With his victory, Jana Nayagan has now become a hot property in both theatrical and non-theatrical markets.

Reports suggest that Telugu distributors are offering around ₹15 crore for the Telugu rights, while the makers are reportedly expecting nearly ₹35 crore. Industry experts believe that ₹15–20 crore is a reasonable valuation, but anything beyond that could be risky unless the film performs strongly beyond the opening weekend.

The film is said to be a frame-to-frame remake of Bhagavanth Kesari starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and directed by Anil Ravipudi.

Trade analysts feel that Vijay’s new political image has created additional buzz around the film, especially among his strong fan base and certain regional audience segments, significantly improving its market prospects.
