BJP likely to shift Purandeswari to its stronghold in AP!

It is a known fact that the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) doesn’t have any representation in Andhra Pradesh currently. Despite this, BJP enjoys a strong hold in a particular region in the state, the port city Visakhapatnam.

BJP entered the shore city Visakhapatnam for the first time by winning the Vizag Mayor elections. Since then, the saffron party BJP has been holding it’s strength in Vizag making it the strong base of the party.

In the 2014 elections, BJP candidate Kambhampati Hari Babu won as Vizag MP and served as the BJP AP chief later.Kambhampati Hari Babu who stood as a strong pillar for the party in Vizag was made Mizoram Governor recently. He assumed the Governor’s office earlier on July 7.

In the absence of a strong leader like Hari Babu, a question of who will replace his place in the shore city erupted in the Andhra Pradesh wing of BJP.

Amid this, media reports claim that D Purandeswari might be shifted to the constituency as a bid to strengthen the BJP in Vizag. She earlier served as Vizag Lok Sabha member back in 2009. However, she contested on a Congress ticket and was made a Cabinet Minister.

It has been widely reported that, keeping all this in mind, BJP is likely to send her to Vizag as s prepration for the next elections. As per the media reports, BJP might form an alliance with the TDP for the next elections, like it did for the 2014 elections.
