BJP now focused on Pawan’s next step

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan gave a resounding speech on March 14th, on the occasion of the formation of the Jana Sena Party, saying that all the opposition parties of Andhra Pradesh should band together in order to defeat the YSRCP. He said that this is to be done, keeping aside all ego and political differences, for the betterment of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Given that there have been reports of an alliance between the TDP and the Jana Sena once again, many started to speculate that Pawan’s speech was indicative of this. However, Pawan’s speech was just merely indicative of the political situation in the state, and the need for a grand alliance, in order to oust the YSRCP. For quite some time now, the TDP has been trying to get back in the good books of the BJP, trying to form an alliance with the party once again, but the central leadership of the BJP is not interested in the alliance, given Chandrababu’s campaign against PM Narendra Modi, ahead of the 2019 elections.

On the other hand, all the Left parties are also open to an alliance with the TDP and the Jana Sena. However, they are not open to an alliance with the BJP. With Jana Sena currently still allied with the BJP and trying to forge a grand alliance in the state, the BJP is said to be keen on Pawan’s next step, and what he would do, based on which they are expected to take a call on their alliance with Jana Sena. Apart from that, the BJP and the Jana Sena alliance is said to be strong for now.
