Black Fungus a new concern for Telangana, 285 suspicious cases reach Koti ENT Hospital!

The new danger Black Fungus, which is ringing danger bells in the country has started to trouble Telangana too. The number of Black Fungus cases continues to rise in the state gradually.

On Thursday alone as many as 284 suspicious cases of Black Fungus reached the state-run Koti ENT hospital. Out of the total suspicious cases, 39 patients were admitted as In Patients at the hospitals.

With the addition of new admissions, the total number of Black Fungus cases at the ENT hospital rose to 90. Surgeries were performed on seven of the patients on Thursday.

Media reports claimed that the hospital didn’t admit the patients as a few of them were Covid negative patients, and people with fewer symptoms were asked to follow the medications and sent back.’

Tension gripped the ENT hospital with the patients and their family members rushing to the hospitals to get admissions.

On the other hand, the Telangana Health Department declared Black Fungus as a notifiable disease under the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897. In addition to this, the bed facility at the hospital was also increased to 200 from the previous 50.
