Veteran actress Meenakshi Seshadri has shared her thoughts on the changing culture of stardom in today’s film industry, saying she believes in letting her work speak louder than constant visibility and publicity.

Known to Telugu audiences for her memorable performance in Aapadbandhavudu alongside Chiranjeevi, Meenakshi recently caught attention after sharing a special social media reel dancing to the song Aura Ammaku Chella from the same film.

During a recent interaction, the actress spoke candidly about how modern celebrity culture operates. Reflecting on today’s entertainment industry, she remarked that many actresses appear to stay in the news through constant image-building efforts rather than purely through their acting work.

Meenakshi stated that she personally cannot follow that approach and prefers to focus on meaningful work instead of creating headlines through glamour-driven publicity. She also compared the current industry atmosphere to the famous “Entertainment, Entertainment, Entertainment” dialogue from The Dirty Picture, suggesting that visibility and public attention now play a major role in sustaining stardom.

The actress’ comments come at a time when several senior actors across the Indian film industry have also been speaking about the growing influence of PR culture and aggressive image management in cinema.

Back in the 1980s and 1990s, Meenakshi Seshadri established herself as one of Bollywood’s leading actresses with successful films like Damini, earning acclaim largely through performance-oriented roles rather than glamour-focused publicity.

After marriage, the actress moved to the United States, where she currently teaches Bharatanatyam while also focusing on family life. A trained classical dancer, she continues to stay connected with the arts through dance and cultural activities.

At the same time, Meenakshi expressed openness towards returning to Indian cinema if the right opportunity comes her way. She also mentioned that she would be interested in sharing screen space once again with actors like Anil Kapoor, Sunny Deol, and Jackie Shroff in the future.
