While his debut film Uppena turned out to be a blockbuster, Peddi has delivered a mixed response at the box office despite putting up strong numbers in a few key territories.
Soon after the film’s release, speculation began doing the rounds that Buchi Babu’s next project might feature Mahesh Babu. However, industry sources suggest that these reports are far from true at this stage.
At present, apart from Ram Charan, no other major star is reportedly in active discussions with the director. In fact, Charan is said to have promised Buchi Babu another collaboration during the making of Peddi itself.
The director is believed to be hopeful of reuniting with Charan after the actor completes his upcoming film with Sukumar. However, the timeline of that project remains uncertain and depends heavily on Charan’s packed schedule and future commitments.
Meanwhile, as for Mahesh Babu, industry buzz suggests that the superstar is currently focusing on filmmakers who can deliver large-scale pan-Indian spectacles. After completing his ongoing project with SS Rajamouli, Mahesh is said to be considering collaborations with directors like Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Prashanth Neel for his next phase.
Given this scenario, Buchi Babu Sana may have to wait longer before landing another top-tier collaboration. While Peddi has strengthened his reputation as a filmmaker with a distinct voice, converting that momentum into another big-star project could take some time.
