Ram Charan’s upcoming pan-India entertainer Peddi has already generated massive excitement globally, with the makers aggressively promoting the film ahead of its grand theatrical release.

Amid the growing buzz, director Buchi Babu Sana recently addressed rumours suggesting that the story had initially been narrated to other actors before reaching Ram Charan. The filmmaker firmly denied the speculation and clarified that the role was conceived exclusively with Ram Charan in mind.

Speaking during a media interaction, Buchi Babu revealed that he had written the story of Peddi even before directing his blockbuster debut film Uppena.

According to the director, after Uppena’s release, he narrated the script to filmmaker Sukumar, who was highly impressed and immediately arranged a meeting with Ram Charan.

“Peddi was written only for Ram Charan garu. Even while developing the character, I could only imagine him in the role. After hearing the narration, Ram Charan garu approved the film in a single sitting without suggesting even one correction. If Peddi exists today, the biggest reason behind it is Ram Charan garu,” Buchi Babu stated.

The filmmaker’s comments have further heightened expectations around the project, which is being mounted on a massive scale.

The trailer of Peddi is scheduled to be unveiled on May 18 in Mumbai as part of the film’s nationwide promotions.

Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru, the film features Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead. The cast also includes veteran actor Shiva Rajkumar, Divyenndu and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles.

Peddi is officially slated for a grand worldwide theatrical release on June 4, 2026.
