Telugu Fans Split Over Anirudh vs Sai Abhyankar

Telugu audiences are widely regarded as some of the most passionate movie lovers in India. Their willingness to embrace quality cinema, irrespective of language, has played a key role in the success of several Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films in the Telugu states.

However, a new trend on social media has caught the attention of film enthusiasts. Telugu netizens have now begun engaging in fan wars over Tamil music composers, turning what was once appreciation into heated online debates.

The discussion revolves around two of Tamil cinema’s biggest musical talents—Anirudh Ravichander and Sai Abhyankar. While Anirudh has dominated the Indian music scene for over a decade with numerous chartbusters, Sai Abhyankar has rapidly emerged as one of the industry’s most exciting young composers, delivering consecutive hit albums.

A section of Telugu fans believes Anirudh remains unmatched, pointing to his remarkable consistency and his ability to deliver blockbuster soundtracks for some of the biggest films in Indian cinema. Others argue that Sai Abhyankar’s recent work, particularly the albums of Karuppu and Dude, has been so impressive that he is fast becoming the new favorite among younger audiences.

There is no denying that Sai has enjoyed a dream run in recent months, with his songs topping streaming platforms and generating massive buzz on social media. At the same time, Anirudh continues to hold an enviable legacy, having consistently produced successful albums for over a decade across high-profile, big-budget projects.

Healthy discussions and comparisons between artists are a natural part of cinema culture. However, the growing trend of Telugu social media users engaging in aggressive fan wars over music directors from another industry has left many surprised. Appreciating the work of talented composers is one thing, but turning it into unnecessary online rivalry often takes attention away from what truly matters—the music itself.
