SS Rajamouli has added yet another prestigious milestone to his illustrious career by receiving a rare international honour in Paris, France. The acclaimed filmmaker was invited by the renowned Cinémathèque Française, one of the world’s most respected film archives and cultural institutions, marking another proud moment for Indian cinema on the global stage.

As part of the special tribute, three of Rajamouli’s landmark films—Eega, Baahubali, and RRR—were screened before film enthusiasts, critics, and industry experts. Celebrated for their grand storytelling, groundbreaking visuals, and unforgettable characters, the films received a warm reception from the audience.

The highlight of the event was the Cinémathèque Française dedicating a permanent seat in Rajamouli’s name—an exceptional honour rarely bestowed upon filmmakers. The gesture reflects the immense respect and admiration the director has earned from the international film community.

Expressing his gratitude, Rajamouli shared that having his films showcased in Paris was itself a dream come true, but receiving a permanent seat at such a historic institution made the occasion truly unforgettable. He thanked the Cinémathèque Française for embracing Indian cinema with such warmth and appreciation.

The celebrations became even more special with the presence of legendary French filmmaker Costa-Gavras and his wife. According to Rajamouli’s son, SS Karthikeya, the veteran director spent nearly eight hours at the venue, watching RRR, Baahubali, and Rajamouli’s masterclass. Karthikeya described the experience as deeply inspiring, saying such moments remind filmmakers why they fell in love with cinema in the first place.

Rajamouli’s achievement was widely celebrated by fans across India and around the world, with social media flooded with congratulatory messages praising him for elevating Indian cinema on the global stage.

Meanwhile, Rajamouli is currently busy with his much-awaited pan-India project, Varanasi, featuring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles. The recently unveiled first glimpse of the film has already generated tremendous excitement, raising expectations for what promises to be another cinematic spectacle from the visionary director.
