The annual Telugu Desam Party plenary, Mahanadu, is currently underway at the party headquarters in Amaravati, drawing the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and party national working president Nara Lokesh.
This year’s Mahanadu carries significant political weight, with both leaders strongly criticizing the previous YSR Congress Party (YCP) government, which they referred to in sharp terms while addressing party cadre and supporters.
N. Chandrababu Naidu urged TDP workers to remain mindful of what he described as the consequences of the former YCP rule, alleging mismanagement that affected the state’s finances as well as law and order. He emphasized the need to consistently remind the public about the issues faced during the previous administration.
Echoing similar sentiments, Nara Lokesh was equally vocal in his criticism of the YCP tenure. He highlighted the NDA government’s developmental push, citing investments and projects such as Google’s presence in Andhra Pradesh, along with initiatives in the defence and automobile sectors like fighter jet-related developments and Kia’s investment, to contrast with what he termed the previous government’s focus on vendetta politics over development.
Together, the father-son duo maintained a strong political stance at the event, reinforcing their narrative against the YSR Congress Party while projecting the TDP-led alliance as development-oriented and forward-looking.
