Chandrababu Backs Pawan Kalyan Amid Telangana Political Row

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has found himself at the centre of a political debate in Telangana following his recent remarks on Janasena Party’s (JSP) expansion plans in the state.

In his statements, Pawan Kalyan reportedly said that JSP would contest the 2024 Telangana elections and also mentioned that he is unfazed by what he described as “empty threats” from certain political leaders. However, these comments were allegedly misinterpreted by sections of media in Telangana, leading to narratives suggesting he was speaking against the people of the state.

Amid the growing controversy, veteran leader and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has come out strongly in support of Pawan Kalyan. He backed his political aspirations and clarified that expanding Janasena’s presence in Telangana is a democratic right.

Naidu drew a comparison with earlier political developments, noting that when KCR launched the BRS with national ambitions and expanded into Andhra Pradesh, it was welcomed in the spirit of political democracy. He added that a similar approach should be extended to Pawan Kalyan’s efforts in Telangana.

The Chief Minister further highlighted that in countries like the US and Australia, political parties often expand beyond regional boundaries, and Indian politics should also evolve in a similar manner without unnecessary friction.

Meanwhile, BJP Telangana leader Ramachandra Rao also supported Pawan Kalyan’s right to pursue political activities in the state. This was followed by Chandrababu Naidu’s strong endorsement, reinforcing Pawan Kalyan’s position and political stature.
