Chiranjeevi’s Acharya release postponed due to rise in Covid cases

Several big-budget films from Tollywood such as Love Story, Virata Parvam and Tuck Jagadish have postponed their release dates due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the country.

Now, the release of one of the most-anticipated Tollywood movies, Megastar Chiranjeevi starrer Acharya has been postponed because of the second wave of coronavirus.

The action drama was initially set for theatrical release on May 13 but has now been postponed given the recent spike in the number of coronavirus cases. The makers of the film are yet to reveal the new release date.

Matinee Entertainments, the production house of Acharya on Tuesday, took to their Twitter handle and wrote, “Keeping in view of the pandemic situation, #Acharya movie will not be releasing on May 13. New Release date will be announced once the situation becomes normal. Wear a mask, Stay home & stay safe! #AcharyaPostponed. (sic)”

Directed by Koratala Siva, Acharya stars Ram Charan in a pivotal role. It has Kajal Aggarwal in the leading lady role, while Pooja Hegde will be seen in an extended guest role. The film has music by Mani Sharma.
