The efforts of union ministers Chiranjeevi, Pallam Raj and Kavuri Sambasiva Rao to stall Telangana had apparently failed. It is learnt that the three ministers met Congress top leaders Ahmed Patel and Ghulam Nabi Azad and asked that the state be kept united.
However both the central leaders told them that the party had already decided on Telangana and it could not go back at this stage. They suggested that they should meet Seemandhra leaders and convince them about Telangana. The union ministers are trying to meet Sonia Gandhi to make last minute attempt to prevent state bifurcation.
