CM Jagan to write a letter to PM Modi?

The state of Andhra Pradesh is currently struck very badly with Coronavirus, and there’s a dire shortage of vaccines in the state. Added to that is the fact that the Central government has been delaying sending a new batch of vaccines to the state.

The cabinet met upon this issue in Amaravati today and decided that the Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy should write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting for new vaccine doses to be sent as soon as possible. Several requests have already been made to the Center, asking for vaccines, but the Center has responded to none of those requests. The cabinet thought that Jagan’s letter to the PM would carry a lot more weight and impact, which would help with the procuring of vaccines earlier.

Most of the people haven’t gotten their second dosage yet, and then the vaccination for people between 18 and 44 years hasn’t even been started. It is being said that the government is considering bringing in oxygen from Orissa, Tamil Nadu and other States to save the lives of the people in the State

Already, the Jagan government has put in place a midday curfew, which starts from 12 PM in the afternoon. No shops or establishments are allowed to run after 12 PM, except emergency services. The government is now reportedly thinking of stopping RTC services from after 12 PM, keeping the curfew in mind. On the other hand, the government has also reportedly asked the concerned department officials to make sure that the curfew is implemented strictly across the state.
