The much-awaited pan-India period action spectacle David Reddy, starring Manchu Manoj, has officially unveiled its teaser on the occasion of the actor’s birthday, offering a powerful glimpse into its intense world.
The teaser opens with British officials discussing strategies to suppress Mahatma Gandhi’s freedom movement, setting the stage for a gripping historical backdrop. As the narrative unfolds, the British officers are seen searching for someone capable of challenging Gandhi’s influence, leading to the introduction of David Reddy.
Manchu Manoj appears in a fierce, rugged avatar that instantly grabs attention, while Maria Ryaboshapka adds emotional depth through her impactful presence alongside him. Feared by the British forces, his character is eventually hailed as “Rakshas Reddy.”
Set between 1897 and 1920 during the British colonial era, the film follows the journey of a fearless warrior who rises against the British Empire. Mounted on a grand scale, the teaser showcases intense action sequences, with sharp editing by Ujwal Kulkarni enhancing the overall impact.
The powerful background score by Ravi Basrur further elevates the visuals, while detailed production design and authentic sets recreate the pre-Independence atmosphere convincingly.
David Reddy is being crafted as a pan-India action drama releasing in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The film features an ensemble cast including Ramya Krishnan, Samuthirakani, Abhay Deol, and Kanchana in key roles.
Directed by Hanuma Reddy Yakkanti and produced by Nallagangula Venkat Reddy and Bharat Motukuri under Velvet Soul Motion Pictures and True Radix, the film is slated for a grand theatrical release during Dussehra 2026.
