Dilijit Dosanjh censures Kangana’s mocking tweet on an old Punjabi woman

Dilijit Dosanjh has been making waves as an actor apart from being a singer. Though not much upfront in stating his opinions, one tweet from actor Kangana Ranaut irked him.

He has like other numerous Punjabi stars took a stand to censure Kangana Ranaut for her disrespecting and mocking remarks on old Sikh woman. Kangana had shared a post, misidentifying an elderly Sikh woman during the farmers’ protest as Bilkis Bano of Shaheen Bagh. She had written that the woman had protested for a scanty price of Rs 100 on hire.

Though the actress deleted the tweet the damage was highly done to Punjabis already and many netizens too lashed out at her. “Respected MAHINDER KAUR JI listen to this proof, @KanganaTeam. One should not be this blind. She(Kangana) keeps saying anything),” Dilijit hit out in his tweet.

Advocate Harkam Singh slapped a lawsuit dated November 30. The legal notice claimed Kangana should have validated information before sharing it on social media and demanded an apology over her misidentified tweet about the lady.

“It is to inform you that the said lady is not a fake lady. Her name is Mahinder Kaur and she belongs to Bathinda. She is the wife of farmer Labh Singh Nambardar. She in her life, has always remained connected with fields and filed work” the notice stated.
