Vir Das Defends Kangana Ranaut

Actor-comedian Vir Das has firmly dismissed viral allegations claiming he was accidentally injured by Kangana Ranaut while filming a kissing scene for the 2014 black comedy Revolver Rani. Calling the story “pure fiction,” Vir came out in support of his former co-star and described her as a complete professional.
Taking to X, Vir clarified that there were no issues between him and Kangana during the making of the film. He wrote, “Right. Just so we are clear. This story is pure fiction. Kangana was a complete professional and I still maintain, a truly gifted artist. This is unfair slander to her.”
In a light-hearted remark, Vir also referred to their later public differences, adding, “She went on to call me a terrorist a few years later for my comedy, but on set… no problems at all.”
Kangana Ranaut also responded to Vir’s post, questioning the credibility of the viral claim and dismissing it outright. Thanking Vir for setting the record straight, she criticized the person behind the allegations and suggested the story had been fabricated for attention.
The clarification from both actors has effectively put an end to speculation surrounding the alleged on-set incident, with both maintaining that their professional relationship during Revolver Rani was cordial.
Released in 2014, Revolver Rani starred Kangana Ranaut as the fearless Alka Singh, popularly known as “Revolver Rani,” while Vir Das played Bollywood actor Rohan Mehra. Directed by Sai Kabir Shrivastav, the film also featured Piyush Mishra, Zakir Hussain, and Zeishan Quadri in key roles.
On the professional front, Vir Das was last seen in Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, which also marked his directorial debut. Released on January 26, 2026, the film featured Mithila Palkar, Mona Singh, Sharib Hashmi, and Srushti Tawade in prominent roles, with special appearances by Aamir Khan and Imran Khan.
