Who is the health minister of Telangana? Ask any school going boy. Pat comes the reply – Harish Rao. Harish RaSo has been holding the portfolio of health department for the past several months and has conducted umpteen review meetings all through the year. But, ask the website of the prestigious Gandhi Hospital, it still shows Eatala Rajender as the health minister of the state.
The story does not end there. The Gandhi Hospital website says A Shantha Kumari as the health commissioner of the state. Further, it says Dr Prakash Rao as the principal of the Gandhi Medical College and Dr Shravan Kumar as the hospital superintendent. The problem is all these three have retired long ago and others have taken over these responsibilities. Clearly, the hospital website has not been updated in months.
This also shows the functioning of the administrative department of the Gandhi Hospital, which takes care of the maintenance of the website. There have been several complaints about the lackadaisical attitude of the hospital staff. The condition of the website stands testimony to negligence, insensitivity and lack of responsibility on the part of the staff.
The names of current commissioner of family welfare Vakati Karuna, hospital superintendent Dr Raja Rao, Gandhi Medical College principal Ramesh Reddy and others have not been updated. Not just that. Even the names of the staff members, doctors, professors and other teachers, who have retired long ago, continue to appear on the website. Will someone look into this and update the website? Or will it be left to its fate just as the Gandhi Hospital is left to its fate?
