A rare public appearance by Suriya and Jyotika’s son, Dev, has taken social media by storm. A video featuring the star kid speaking at an Artificial Intelligence (AI) fellowship program has gone viral, with fans pleasantly surprised to hear him address an audience for what is believed to be the first time.

In the clip, Dev confidently introduces himself as a student of Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai, before sharing his experience at the AI fellowship. He explains that while he had a basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence before joining the program, the fellowship significantly expanded his knowledge and helped him appreciate the subject’s growing importance.

Dev’s confident delivery, articulate communication and composed personality quickly won over netizens. Since Suriya and Jyotika have always preferred to keep their children away from the limelight, the video has generated even greater curiosity among fans. Many praised the youngster’s confidence and maturity, with several commenting that they were hearing his voice for the very first time.

Born on June 7, 2010, in Chennai, Dev is the younger child of Suriya and Jyotika. He has an elder sister, Diya, and belongs to one of Tamil cinema’s most celebrated families. Veteran actor Sivakumar and Lakshmi are his grandparents, while actor Karthi is his uncle. Despite his family’s popularity, Dev has largely stayed away from public attention. After completing his early schooling in Chennai, he later shifted to Mumbai along with his family to continue his education.

Apart from academics, Dev has also excelled in martial arts. In 2019, he won the national Isshinryu Karate Championship held in New Delhi and went on to earn a black belt. Earlier this year, a heartwarming video of Suriya congratulating his son after a karate event also went viral, earning praise from fans.

Speculation about Dev eventually entering the film industry surfaces from time to time, but Suriya and Jyotika have consistently maintained that their children should focus on their education and enjoy a normal upbringing before considering any career path.
