Raj Nidimoru Reveals Samantha’s Turning Point

Samantha has scripted one of the most inspiring comeback stories in recent years. After facing a difficult phase marked by health challenges, personal setbacks, and a string of underperforming films, the actress has bounced back strongly with the blockbuster success of Maa Inti Bangaaram.
Back in 2023, many believed Samantha might step away from acting as she battled health issues and dealt with the emotional impact of her marital separation. At the same time, films like Yashoda and Shaakuntalam failed to make the desired impact at the box office, adding to the challenges in her career.
However, 2026 has marked a remarkable turnaround. Maa Inti Bangaaram, a female-centric drama, emerged as a major commercial success despite releasing without the advantage of a festival or holiday weekend. The film has reaffirmed Samantha’s star power and proved that audiences continue to connect strongly with her performances.
The actress has been visibly emotional while interacting with fans during the film’s success celebrations, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming response.
A key figure behind Samantha’s comeback has been her husband and filmmaker Raj Nidimoru. Speaking at the film’s success event, Raj revealed that Samantha had once seriously considered quitting acting, but he convinced her to do one more Telugu film. That decision eventually led to Maa Inti Bangaaram.
Raj not only co-produced the film under their banner, Tralala Moving Pictures, but also wrote the story. He shared that the character of Swarna was inspired by Samantha’s real-life resilience and determination, making the project deeply personal for both of them.
Directed by B.V. Nandini Reddy, Maa Inti Bangaaram has reportedly grossed over ₹50 crore worldwide within its first few days, delivering the biggest solo opening of Samantha’s career and marking a triumphant new chapter in her journey.
