Representatives of Godrej Agrovet met Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to discuss the expansion of oil palm cultivation in the state and the establishment of a private integrated oil palm complex. The meeting was held at the MCR HRD Institute, where the company presented its plans to strengthen Telangana’s oil palm ecosystem.

During the meeting, Godrej Agrovet’s President of Corporate Affairs, Rakesh Swamy, and Oil Palm Business CEO, Sougata Niyogi, briefed the Chief Minister on the proposed expansion project. The company informed the government that it is investing ₹300 crore in a new integrated oil palm project in Khammam district, which is expected to create employment opportunities for more than 700 people.

The Telangana government has already allotted 113.5 acres of land at Gubbagurthi village in Konijerla mandal for the development of an oil palm processing unit, nursery, research and development centre, and seed garden. To further expand the project, the company requested an additional 35–40 acres of land for extending the seed garden and also sought the widening of roads leading to the processing facility.

Responding positively to the proposals, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed officials to initiate the required road expansion works through the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC). The project is expected to strengthen Telangana’s oil palm sector, improve agricultural infrastructure, and generate significant employment in the region.
