Governor holds her guns over TRS’s nomination

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi, in a cabinet meeting chaired by CM KCR, decided to nominate Padi Kaushik Reddy as MLC under Governor’s quota under the social service category. After this, they immediately sent the nomination to Governor Tamilisair Soundararajan for approval on August 1st, and have since been waiting for her approval.

Today, after a month and a week have passed, the Governor has finally responded, saying that she needs more time to come to a decision on the matter, as she needs to look into Kaushik’s history with social service before she gives her approval. Sources say that the CM is waiting for the right time to get back at the governor if she rejects the nomination.

On the other hand, there have been controversies surrounding Reddy’s nomination since the very day as he had joined the TRS just 10 days prior to his nomination. Kaushik Reddy, who is a 36-year-old cricketer who flayed first-class matches for Hyderbad joined active politics and contested in the 2018 elections for Huzurabad, from Congress. After Huzurabad MLA Etela quit the TRS and joined the BJP this year, Kaushik Reddy quit the Congress and joined the TRS.
