Half-day schools in Andhra Pradesh from April 1

The Andhra Pradesh government headed by CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken a crucial decision because of growing pandemic cases and the approaching summer season.

The AP government has announced that school timings will be cut down to half days starting from April 1. AP Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh announced that students of classes 1 to 10 will have classes from 7.45 am to 12.30 pm due to the summer heat and rising coronavirus cases.

After the classes end, the Mid-day meals will be provided for the students before they depart for their homes.

The minister instructed that teachers and administrators should take care of the safe repatriation of students from schools. He also directed them to conduct regular Covid tests for students and advised students to wear masks, use sanitizers and adhere to physical distance.
