Director Nelson Dilipkumar appears to be following one clear strategy with Jailer 2 — making the sequel bigger and grander than the first film in every possible way. Following the massive success of Rajinikanth’s Jailer, expectations surrounding the sequel have naturally reached sky-high levels.
While Rajinikanth’s presence alone is enough to generate enormous hype, the makers reportedly plan to elevate the sequel further with multiple surprise elements, including special cameos similar to those seen in the first installment. This approach is expected to strengthen the film’s pan-India appeal even more.
For the past few months, speculation regarding major star cameos in Jailer 2 has been circulating widely. Veteran Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty recently revealed that both he and Shah Rukh Khan were expected to appear in the film, instantly taking fan excitement to another level.
The idea of Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan sharing screen space in a Nelson Dilipkumar film created huge buzz, especially after Shah Rukh’s growing popularity in South India following the blockbuster success of Jawan. Fans believed the cameo combination could deliver one of the biggest theatrical moments in recent times.
However, the latest reports suggest that Shah Rukh Khan may no longer be part of the project due to scheduling conflicts related to his own production venture, King. Industry buzz indicates that portions planned with him are still pending and may not move forward as initially expected.
Interestingly, fresh speculation now suggests that the makers are considering Hrithik Roshan for the same role. Hrithik is undoubtedly one of Bollywood’s biggest stars with exceptional screen presence and action appeal. However, many fans feel that replacing Shah Rukh Khan with Hrithik Roshan would significantly alter the emotional impact and mass dynamic of the cameo, especially for Tamil and Telugu audiences.
