India Warns Against Fake Visa Agents in UAE

The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai have announced a major overhaul of their consular services, ending their partnerships with outsourced service providers BLS International and SGIVS Global. Effective July 1, 2026, all passport, visa, and document attestation services are being provided directly by the two Indian missions from their own premises.

The move is aimed at making the application process more transparent, efficient, and free from unauthorised service charges. Under the revised system, applicants can schedule appointments for passport, visa, and attestation services at no cost through the official online portal.

In a public advisory issued on July 10, 2026, the Embassy also cautioned Indian nationals against fraudulent individuals and agencies falsely claiming to represent the Embassy or the Consulate. The notice clarified that any organisation, agent, or intermediary claiming to be authorised by the Indian missions to book appointments or collect fees is acting without approval.

The Embassy and the Consulate have strongly advised applicants not to make payments to BLS International, SGIVS Global, or any third party promising faster appointments or special assistance. Officials reiterated that appointment booking is completely free and that no external agency has been authorised to collect money on behalf of the diplomatic missions.

Indian nationals who believe they have been misled, overcharged, or deceived by fraudulent agencies have been urged to report such incidents immediately to the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate General of India in Dubai through their official communication channels.

The missions have also appealed to the public to remain vigilant and rely only on official platforms and verified sources for all passport, visa, and attestation-related services, ensuring they are protected from scams and unauthorised intermediaries.
