An Indian-origin man living in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has won a life-changing prize of 2 million AED (approximately ₹5.15 crore) in Sharjah Islamic Bank’s “Millionaire” savings campaign. The lucky winner, 34-year-old Shajeer Venga, had opened his savings account with the bank just two months ago through its mobile app.
Along with Venga’s big win, an Emirati citizen, Moza Butti, reportedly won a luxury BMW XM, while around 40 other participants also received cash prizes in the same draw.
Speaking to Khaleej Times, Venga described the reward as a dream come true, saying he had followed the campaign and always hoped to win. Calling it a “life-changing” moment, he said the prize money would help him invest in his future and also support his long-term goal of bringing his family from India to the UAE. He added that Sharjah Islamic Bank had “turned aspiration into reality” by delivering on its promise.
Launched in 2025, Sharjah Islamic Bank’s “Millionaire” campaign is a savings-linked reward program designed to encourage customers to build financial discipline through eligible deposit accounts. The initiative offers more than 20 million AED in annual prizes, including cash rewards and luxury vehicles.
According to the bank, customers receive one entry into the draw for every 10,000 AED deposited in a savings account, increasing their chances of winning major prizes.
Bank officials stated that the campaign is aimed at helping customers achieve their financial goals while making saving more rewarding. They also expressed pride in Venga’s win, noting that the program continues to create real-life success stories.
The next draw will reportedly feature two grand prizes of 1 million AED each, with one reserved for UAE nationals and the other open to all nationalities.
