Toxic Release Uncertainty Continues Amid Sankranthi 2027 Rumours

There is growing uncertainty surrounding the release of Toxic, which has reportedly faced multiple postponements. Latest industry buzz suggests the film may now be aiming for a Sankranthi 2027 release, though there has been no official confirmation from the makers.

The film’s promotional material has not generated the expected response from audiences or the trade, and reports indicate that its business deals have been slower than anticipated. Adding to the concerns, OTT rights are also said to be unsold at this stage, which is believed to be one of the reasons behind the delay.

The speculation around a Sankranthi release has also created scheduling conflicts, as Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film with director Bobby, produced by the same banner, is also being planned for the festive slot. Given the massive box office success of Waltair Veerayya during Sankranthi, the makers are reportedly keen to repeat the sentiment-driven release strategy.

However, releasing two big films from the same production house during the same season appears unlikely, especially with financial and distribution considerations surrounding Toxic. This has further complicated the release planning.

Meanwhile, another project from the same production house, Jana Nayagan, is also facing delays due to censorship-related issues. While early reports suggested strong buzz and high expectations around the film, current trade discussions indicate a dip in momentum.

If Jana Nayagan manages to secure a timely release with strong box office performance, it could help ease the production house’s financial pressure. For now, however, uncertainty continues around all major upcoming releases, keeping the industry closely watching the next move.
