Peddi Pre-Release Event Creates History, Buchi Babu Promises an Emotional Blockbuster

The pre-release event of Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s Peddi turned into a historic celebration, drawing an ocean of fans and creating an atmosphere rarely witnessed in Telugu cinema. The sheer scale of the gathering reflected the immense anticipation surrounding the film, which is set to hit screens in just three days.
Speaking at the event, Mythri Ravi recalled some of the most memorable celebrations associated with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s illustrious career. He mentioned the grand Vijetha event at PWD Grounds in 1985, the massive Gang Leader celebrations across three cities in 1990, including a landmark event at Vijayawada’s Old Bus Stand, and the spectacular Indra function held at Bhavanipuram in 2002.
“Those were unforgettable occasions, but Ram Charan’s Peddi event at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium has surpassed them all. If there is anyone capable of taking Chiranjeevi garu’s legacy to greater heights, it is Ram Charan,” Ravi stated.
He further described Peddi as much more than a regular commercial entertainer. “Some films are remembered for their scale, while some become events in themselves. Peddi belongs to the latter category. It transports audiences into a completely different world. Even after leaving the theatre, people will continue to carry the character of Peddi in their hearts. Everyone who has watched the film so far has called it extraordinary. This film is ready to rewrite records.”
Ravi also praised Ram Charan’s dedication, saying the actor fully understands the responsibility of carrying forward the legacy of his father while creating his own identity.
Director Buchi Babu Sana, meanwhile, admitted that he is experiencing a mix of excitement and nervousness as the release date approaches.
“After Uppena, it took me five years to make another film. Uppena brought me a National Award and immense success for everyone involved. The reason behind this long gap is simple—every moment was dedicated to shaping Peddi,” he explained.
While the film appears to be a commercial entertainer on the surface, Buchi Babu emphasized that its emotional depth forms the heart of the story.
“Peddi is a commercial film with a powerful emotional soul. It tells the story of a sportsman and how sport can give an individual identity, dignity, and the strength to inspire change in others. This is not merely the journey of a man who rises; it is the story of a man who falls, struggles, and rises again. While Uppena was made on a budget of ₹25 crore, Peddi has been mounted on a grand scale with a budget of ₹350 crore.”
The director revealed that despite watching the film more than 100 times during the making process, the emotional impact remains unchanged.
“Even today, the final 40 minutes of the second half move me deeply. Those who watched the film alongside me experienced the same emotions, and in many cases, reacted even more strongly.”
Praising his lead actor, Buchi Babu said, “Ram Charan’s screen presence and heroism are phenomenal. His performance in the climax is extraordinary. Every actor in the film has brought life and authenticity to every word I wrote.”
Concluding on an emotional note, the director expressed his gratitude to Ram Charan for believing in his vision and making Peddi possible, saying he would always remain indebted to the star for giving him the opportunity to bring this ambitious dream to life.
