The steel plant movement is booming in Visakhapatnam. Concerns have been raised that the decision to privatize the steel plant by the Union government should be withdrawn. TDP leaders have been criticizing CM Jagan over privatization. A group of BJP leaders met Union Steel Minister Dharmendra on the privatization of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and appealed for reconsideration on privatization.
On the other hand, AP TDP president Achennaidu made key remarks on CM Jagan. It is alleged that Jaganmohan Reddy was behind the decision to privatize the steel plant. In addition, Achennaidu challenged the YCP government to resign for the steel plant movement.
Political parties are trying to save the Visakhapatnam steel plant as a whole not to be privately owned under any circumstances. Currently, the criticisms are heaped on the ruling party.
