Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Janasena Party chief Pawan Kalyan has been juggling multiple responsibilities, ranging from governance and administrative duties to overseeing party affairs. Given his demanding schedule, it is only natural for him to expect stronger support from his party leadership in handling political challenges and countering opposition narratives.
For a considerable period, Janasena leaders appeared relatively inactive in responding to criticism and allegations from the opposition. However, after Pawan Kalyan reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of proactive engagement from party functionaries, there has been a noticeable change in the party’s approach.
Senior leaders such as Kandula Durgesh, Pantham Nanaji, Arava Sreedhar, and others have stepped forward to defend the party and counter narratives being pushed by the YSR Congress Party (YCP).
Addressing the media recently, Kandula Durgesh alleged that YCP leaders were spreading misinformation about Pawan Kalyan in connection with the Sai Krishna lockup death case. He also accused the opposition of attempting to create a misleading perception among members of the Kapu community regarding the Janasena chief’s stance on the issue.
Similarly, when YCP leader Ambati Rambabu questioned Pawan Kalyan’s political strength outside caste-based support, Pantham Nanaji responded by challenging YCP president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to contest from a constituency other than Pulivendula.
For Janasena supporters, the recent activism from party leaders is being viewed as a positive development. However, political observers believe that such engagement should not be limited to moments when Pawan Kalyan personally intervenes or issues directives.
A consistent and proactive political response mechanism is crucial for any party seeking to remain relevant and effective in the public sphere. Janasena’s leadership will now be expected to sustain this momentum and continue playing a more active role in defending the party’s position and communicating with the public, rather than relying solely on Pawan Kalyan to lead every battle.
