The 103rd birth anniversary of legendary actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) was observed with deep reverence across the Telugu states on Wednesday. As part of the annual tradition, actor Jr NTR visited NTR Ghat in Hyderabad early in the morning to pay homage to his grandfather and spent a few moments in silent tribute.
A large number of fans gathered at the memorial to catch a glimpse of the star and offer their respects to the iconic leader. During the visit, chants of “CM NTR” echoed across the venue, once again fueling speculation about Jr NTR’s possible political future.
However, according to a senior film producer, the slogans reflect fan enthusiasm rather than any confirmed political intentions from the actor. He stated that Jr NTR is currently focused on strengthening his position in Telugu cinema and expanding his pan-India presence, adding that politics is not an immediate consideration.
The producer also noted that similar chants are heard every year during NTR’s visits to the memorial, but this time the intensity appeared higher. Industry observers believe the renewed excitement may be influenced by recent developments in Tamil Nadu, where actor-turned-politician Vijay’s successful political rise has inspired fans across South India.
They added that whenever a popular film star enters politics successfully, it naturally leads to comparisons and aspirations among fan communities for similar transitions in other states.
