A fresh political controversy has emerged ahead of the Telangana Formation Day celebrations on June 2, with a proposed public meeting by Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan in Hyderabad triggering strong reactions from the TRS leadership.
The issue gained further momentum after TRS chief K. Kavitha sharply criticized the planned event and cautioned against what she described as attempts to create divisions among the people of Telangana.
Responding to Pawan Kalyan’s scheduled visit to Hyderabad, Kavitha issued a strong political message, asserting that her party would firmly counter any efforts that could undermine Telangana’s interests.
“We are TRS 2.0. The last time someone challenged us, it led to the formation of a separate state. This time too, we will respond strongly,” Kavitha remarked while addressing party workers and supporters.
She also took aim at the Andhra Pradesh leadership, questioning their governance priorities. In a pointed comment directed at Pawan Kalyan and leaders from Andhra Pradesh, she said, “You have not yet succeeded in building a capital city for your own state, yet you are speaking about rebuilding Telangana.”
Kavitha’s remarks have intensified the political discourse surrounding Pawan Kalyan’s visit and are likely to further energize political debates in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
With Telangana Formation Day carrying significant emotional and political importance, the exchange of sharp statements between leaders has added another layer of tension to the celebrations. Political observers believe the issue could continue to dominate headlines in the coming days as leaders from different parties respond to the controversy.
As of now, all eyes are on Hyderabad, where the proposed meeting and the reactions surrounding it are expected to shape the political narrative ahead of the statehood celebrations.
