Motherhood Changed My Film Choices: Kajal Aggarwal

Actress Kajal Aggarwal has revealed that motherhood has significantly influenced the way she chooses her film roles, giving her a fresh perspective on her career and the characters she portrays on screen.

After taking a short break following the birth of her son, Kajal made a comeback with films that largely focus on strong, performance-driven roles rather than glamour-centric characters.

She is currently paired opposite Nandamuri Balakrishna in director Gopichand Malineni’s upcoming film. Her recently unveiled first-look poster from the movie presents her in a graceful and elegant avatar, hinting at a character with substance rather than one designed around glamour.

Apart from this, Kajal is actively promoting The India Story, where she essays the role of a lawyer. She is also set to play an important role in the highly anticipated mythological epic Ramayana.

Speaking about whether she has consciously decided to move away from glamorous roles, Kajal clarified that she has not imposed any strict restrictions on herself. However, she admitted that becoming a mother has changed the way she evaluates film offers.

“It is not like that. But I choose films that will not embarrass my son when he grows up and starts watching my movies,” Kajal said, explaining the thought process behind her recent choices.

Her comments reflect a shift in priorities, with greater emphasis on meaningful characters and family-friendly content. While she has not completely ruled out glamorous roles, Kajal indicated that she is now more selective and is unlikely to take up characters that rely heavily on excessive glamour or adult-oriented content, preferring stories that her family—and especially her son—can watch with pride.
