Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Dhootha 2’ Officially Launched with Bigger Scale Sequel
When Dhootha premiered on Amazon Prime Video, it quickly emerged as one of the most talked-about series on the platform, winning praise for its gripping storytelling, atmospheric execution, and Naga Chaitanya’s impactful digital debut.
Directed by Vikram K Kumar and produced by Sharrath Marar under NorthStar Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the supernatural thriller resonated strongly with audiences across languages and regions. What initially began as Naga Chaitanya’s OTT debut soon transformed into a global success, attracting viewers from multiple countries and expanding its reach well beyond the Indian market.
The series not only elevated the standard of thriller content on streaming platforms but also earned Naga Chaitanya widespread appreciation for his performance, bringing him renewed recognition among international audiences.
Now, the franchise is set to continue with its next chapter, Dhootha 2, officially announced by the makers. The sequel also marks a significant milestone for Naga Chaitanya, who returns not only as the lead actor but also steps into the role of producer.
The project will be jointly produced by Annapurna Studios and NorthStar Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., with Vikram K Kumar returning to helm the continuation of the mystery-driven universe. The sequel was formally launched today with a traditional pooja ceremony, where Nagarjuna marked the occasion by sounding the clapboard and presenting the script.
Reports suggest that Dhootha 2 will be mounted on a much larger scale, featuring deeper psychological layers, darker twists, and an expanded supernatural narrative. The series will also feature Parvathy Thiruvothu and Priya Bhavani Shankar in key roles.
Cinematography is handled by Mukeshswaran, while Pravalya D serves as the production designer, adding strong technical backing to the ambitious sequel.
