Everyone seems to be favoring the Bharatiya Janata Party, or at least that’s what the situation looks like, with more and more leaders from every other party joining the BJP. Recently. senior Congress leader Sarvey Satyanarayana quit Congress and made his foray into the BJP. And now, it is the turn of the members of the TRS.
Former chairman of the Legislative Council K. Swamy Goud quit the Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Wednesday, and joined the BJP. Goud had been known to be a loyalist to Chief Minister KCR, but he has been staying away from the TRS after reportedly being miffed with the way KTR has been carrying out operations in the ruling party.
BJP leaders Bandi Sanjay and union minister G Kishan Reddy had invited Goud to join the BJP just a day prior, and Goud’s joining the BJP within just 24 hours is shocking everyone. Goud was also a very active member during the agitation for a separate Telangana state.
Goud was the MLC from Medak-Nizamabad and Karimnagar, and his term ended last year, after which he has been maintaining a good distance with any affairs of the TRS party.
The BJP has been making its moves slowly, but gradually, and has been trying to make its hold on the state of Telangana stronger, for quite some time now. After their win in the Dubbaka by-elections, things have been looking all the more better for the saffron party.
Other members that joined the BJP include former Hyderabad Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy along with her husband, Chandra Reddy, former MLA from Serilingampally, P Bhikshapathi Yadav and his son Ravi Kumar Yadav, a Youth Congress leader.
