Most people would instinctively panic at the sight of a snake. Actress Nabha Natesh, however, says she has never shared that fear.
During the promotions for her upcoming fantasy adventure Nagabandham, the actress made an interesting revelation about her childhood, explaining that growing up around snakes made her comfortable with them from an early age.
With Nagabandham set to hit theatres this week, Nabha has been actively promoting the film and interacting with the media. Given the movie’s snake-centric theme, she was asked whether she felt nervous while filming scenes involving reptiles.
Surprisingly, the actress revealed that she wasn’t intimidated at all.
According to Nabha, she grew up in her ancestral home in Karnataka’s Chikkamagaluru region, where snakes were a common sight. Seeing them around the house was a regular part of her childhood, which eventually made her fearless.
Recalling those memories, she said she and her brother would often have breakfast while snakes could be seen outside the house. Despite their presence, they would continue eating, playing, and going about their day without panic, as encounters with snakes were considered quite normal in their old family home.
Because of those experiences, Nabha said she had little difficulty shooting scenes involving snakes in Nagabandham, even when real snakes were used on set for certain sequences.
Professionally, Nagabandham marks an important film for the actress, who is looking to regain momentum in Telugu cinema. After making a successful acting debut with Kannada star Shivarajkumar’s Vajrakaya at the age of 19, Nabha entered Telugu films with promising opportunities. Although she earned recognition with a few performances, she struggled to sustain consistent success and was away from Telugu cinema for some time following a series of setbacks.
She now hopes Nagabandham will mark the beginning of a successful second innings. The film’s team has also hinted that audiences will get to see Nabha in a completely new avatar, raising expectations for her comeback.
