Malavika Mohanan Slams Media Over Irrelevant Vijay–Trisha Question

Film journalists are increasingly facing criticism for crossing professional boundaries during celebrity interactions, often asking irrelevant and personal questions that appear aimed more at creating controversy than conducting meaningful interviews.

A recent such incident occurred during an interaction with Tamil media featuring actress Malavika Mohanan, who expressed disappointment over the nature of certain questions being directed at her, particularly those referencing actor and politician Thalapathy Vijay.

During the interaction, a journalist asked, “All the places where Vijay sir is going, Trisha will be there. Do you have any idea?” The question, which appeared to reference personal speculation about Vijay and actress Trisha Krishnan, was met with visible discomfort and was later criticized widely online.

Malavika addressed the issue on her X account, stressing that media interactions should remain respectful and focused on relevant topics rather than turning into gossip-driven exchanges. She emphasized the importance of maintaining dignity in public interviews.

The Raja Saab actress, who previously worked with Vijay in Master, has often spoken positively about him, praising his discipline, punctuality, and calm behavior on set. She has also mentioned in earlier interviews that she learned professionalism by observing senior actors like Vijay, Rajinikanth, and Mohanlal during her early career.

The incident has once again sparked debate over media ethics, with many criticizing the trend of sensationalism in interviews. While Vijay continues to remain in the spotlight due to his political journey in Tamil Nadu, Malavika Mohanan is currently occupied with multiple film projects across South Indian cinema.
