Modi’s emergency meeting update: Another lockdown in India?

As the number of Covid-19 cases were raising in India, PM Narendra Modi conducted an emergency meeting in New Delhi. Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Home Minister Amit Shah and few other officials attended the meeting.

As per the close media sources, the main discussion point in the meeting is on another lock down. Few states were showing heavily raising numbers and the Supreme Court recently sent notices to the respective State Governments to take necessary actions. In this scenario, Narendra Modi is said to be in the thoughts of imposing the lock down. “Will it be in those few states or will it be a nation wide lock down?” is yet to be known.

Economy of India is in a tough situation and the nation cannot afford another lock down. But the spread of Covid-19 is so fierce that if a lock down is not imposed, there is a threat for majority of the population. A very tough situation for the Indian Government to handle.
