MP Krishnam Raju received hefty money from news channels?

It is known that there is a war of words between Rebel MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju and the ruling YSRCP for the past couple of years. The MP was also arrested in a sedition case and got bail.

It has been alleged that news channels ‘ABN Andhra Jyothi’ and TV5′ had joined hands with Krishnam Raju and conspired against the state government. It is also alleged that money transactions were also made between TV channels and the MP as part of the conspiracy. Both the channels have approached the Supreme Court separately under Article 32 of the Constitution as the case against them is illegal.

The AP government, which has filed a counter affidavit in the case, has made several allegations. It alleged that the TV5 chairman had transferred tens of millions of rupees (approximately Rs. 8.8 crores) to Krishnam Raju.

The state said Mr Raju’s speeches had also led to violence at the field level and accused Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu of being behind it.

In their affidavit, the Jagan government alleged that the phone conversations between Raju, CBN and Lokesh, and the documents they shared, revealed a major conspiracy against the democratically elected YCP government.

The forensic lab report, which was compiled after examining the cell phone seized from Mr Raju during the investigation, said that all the electronic details from his cell phone were kept before the court.

Meanwhile, Raghurama Krishnam Raju said that he held press conferences in order to raise people’s issues and he had no intention of conspiring against the government.
