Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s journey to power in 2024 was far from easy, as he moved from a disappointing outcome in 2019 to a complete turnaround in the next election. Behind this remarkable political comeback, there were several lesser-known faces and silent supporters who contributed significantly—many of whom are believed to be known only within close circles of the Janasena leadership.
This came into focus after Janasena Party announced Lingamaneni Ramesh as its Rajya Sabha candidate. However, the decision immediately sparked criticism from a section of party leaders and supporters. Many felt that several long-standing and active workers within the party were overlooked, especially since Lingamaneni Ramesh was not widely seen in party activities. Despite this, it is also being said that he stood by Pawan Kalyan through difficult phases over the years.
The announcement triggered visible dissatisfaction within the cadre, leading to a wave of internal backlash on social media. In response to the criticism, Naga Babu reacted strongly, stating, “A leader’s word is final. None have seen the obstacles he has faced; only he knows what is right and wrong. Shut your doubts, silence your tongue, and follow the leader without questions.”
While his intention appeared to be reinforcing trust in Pawan Kalyan’s leadership and decision-making, the choice of words such as “silence your tongue” has drawn criticism for lacking democratic tone. Instead of calming the situation, the statement further fueled debate within party circles and among supporters.
What could have been addressed as a sensitive internal matter escalated due to the aggressive tone of the response, leading to wider criticism and highlighting the need for a more balanced and measured communication approach within the party leadership.
