Ravi Teja’s New Pay Model Buzz

With rising production costs and changing market dynamics, Tollywood is increasingly discussing alternative remuneration models for stars. In recent months, there has been industry-wide debate over leading actors demanding hefty upfront fees despite the slowdown in theatrical and OTT revenues.
Among the names frequently mentioned in these discussions is Ravi Teja. Reports had suggested that the actor was seeking a substantial remuneration for his upcoming projects, leading to delays in signing new films.
However, the latest buzz indicates that Ravi Teja may have opted for a different approach for his next project with producer Dil Raju. The film, reportedly directed by Hasith Goli, is said to follow a profit-sharing remuneration model instead of a large upfront payment.
According to industry reports, Ravi Teja will receive a basic advance of around ₹2–3 crore, while the remaining remuneration will depend on the film’s box-office performance. If the film turns into a commercial success, the actor could earn significantly more through a share in the profits. On the other hand, if the film underperforms, his earnings would be limited to the initial advance.
Trade observers believe this model could prove beneficial for both producers and actors, particularly if the film is made on a controlled budget. Lower upfront remuneration reduces production costs, eases financial pressure on producers and allows greater flexibility in managing cash flow during production.
Many in the industry feel that if more leading actors embrace revenue-sharing arrangements, it could help reduce overall filmmaking costs, lower interest burdens on borrowed capital and make medium-budget films more financially viable.
While there has been no official confirmation regarding Ravi Teja’s remuneration structure, the reported shift has sparked fresh conversations about whether profit-sharing could become a sustainable model for the Telugu film industry in the years ahead.
