Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visited Hyderabad as part of an extensive political and public tour, during which he shared the stage with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
During his speech, Modi made an interesting remark directed at Revanth Reddy, saying he was ready to extend full support if the Telangana CM chose to “join hands” with him. The Prime Minister added with a smile that he would help take Telangana in the right direction if both worked together.
The statement instantly triggered widespread discussion on social media, with many users interpreting it as an indirect invitation for Revanth Reddy to join the BJP.
However, political observers feel the remark may have been more of a general statement about cooperation between the Centre and the State rather than a serious political invitation. Modi’s comment appeared to reflect the idea of working together for development rather than hinting at any major political shift.
From a political standpoint, Revanth Reddy currently enjoys a strong position within the Congress party after successfully leading it to power in Telangana. He has built a solid support system within the party leadership and reportedly shares a good rapport with senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Given the current political scenario, speculation about Revanth switching loyalties to the BJP appears highly unlikely. Analysts believe the BJP, despite its ambitions in Telangana, would prefer strengthening its own leadership structure in the state rather than targeting the sitting Congress Chief Minister.
For now, it seems social media users may have read too much into what was likely a light-hearted and diplomatic comment made by the Prime Minister during the public event.
