As we know, Deepika Padukone is the female lead in this project while John Abraham played the role of a ruthless villain in this flick which is directed by Siddharth Anand. This director is known for such racy spy thrillers as he made ‘War’ and ‘Bang Bang’ till date. Director Siddharth Anand presented SRK in the way his fans wanted to see and there are plenty of scenes where the influence of South Indian cinema can clearly be seen.
The special cameo of Salman and both the superstars pulling out some cool action moves and their conversations made the audience go crazy in theatres. Sources say that Siddharth may even work with Prabhas in the coming days. Hope he makes such a stylish film with the ‘Baahubali’ hero too.

YRF Spy Universe in Trouble After Alpha?
July 9, 2026

The YRF Spy Universe appears to be going through a difficult phase, with its latest release, Alpha, struggling to meet box office expectations. Starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, the female-led action thriller witnessed a brief boost on Blockbuster Tuesday before collections dipped again on Wednesday.
According to trade estimates, Alpha earned around ₹3 crore on its sixth day, taking its India net total to approximately ₹45.8 crore. While the numbers are respectable for a women-led action film, they fall short of expectations considering the film’s reported ₹100 crore budget and the strong brand value associated with the YRF Spy Universe.
The film’s performance has also reignited discussions about the franchise’s recent box office trend. Following the blockbuster success of Pathaan, subsequent entries have struggled to match expectations. Tiger 3, despite reportedly collecting around ₹286 crore net in India, could not justify its estimated ₹300 crore production cost. Similarly, War 2, made on a reported ₹350 crore budget, finished with around ₹244 crore net in India.
Now, Alpha is also expected to end its theatrical run below the ₹70 crore net mark, making it another underperformer in the franchise.
The back-to-back setbacks have raised questions about the future direction of the YRF Spy Universe, which was once considered Bollywood’s most successful cinematic franchise. Industry observers believe the upcoming installments will need fresh storytelling and stronger audience engagement to restore the franchise’s momentum.
Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, Alpha also features Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles, while Hrithik Roshan makes a special cameo appearance. As the seventh installment in the YRF Spy Universe, the film carried high expectations but has so far struggled to translate its brand value into blockbuster box office numbers.
With three consecutive underperformers after Pathaan, the franchise now faces the challenge of delivering a major commercial success to regain its dominance at the box office.
