Shraddha Kapoor, who recently delivered a massive blockbuster with Stree 2, is all set to return with another highly anticipated content-driven film titled Eetha. The film is scheduled for a grand release on August 28, under the direction of Laxman Utekar.

Even before its promotional campaign has fully begun, Eetha has already found itself in the middle of an unexpected controversy. The film is reportedly inspired by the life of legendary Marathi folk artist Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, who was widely celebrated as the queen of Tamasha and known for her extraordinary dedication to the stage.

One of the most talked-about incidents from her life includes performing while heavily pregnant and later delivering a baby backstage, a testament to her resilience and commitment to her art. Director Laxman Utekar is said to have spent years researching her inspiring journey before bringing it to the screen.

The teaser has already sparked curiosity among audiences, but the film has now run into trouble over its title. Vithabai’s family has expressed dissatisfaction with the name Eetha, stating that the film should have carried her real name instead of a fictional title. Reports suggest that the family is even considering legal action against the makers.

So far, the production team has not issued any official response regarding the controversy.

The film features Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role, alongside Randeep Hooda and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in key characters. The music is composed by Ajay–Atul. Eetha is set for a multilingual release, including Telugu.
