Pawan Kalyan Says Joseph Vijay’s Victory Made Him “Jealous”

The massive political success of Joseph Vijay in Tamil Nadu appears to have intensified discussions around Pawan Kalyan and his political journey in Andhra Pradesh. Ever since Vijay became Chief Minister in his very first electoral attempt, comparisons between the two actor-turned-politicians have become a hot topic on social media and in political circles.

A few days ago, Pawan Kalyan responded to these comparisons by stating that the political conditions in Andhra Pradesh are completely different from those in Tamil Nadu. However, during a recent public meeting in Rajahmundry, he made an emotional remark that hinted at his inner disappointment.

“In Tamil Nadu, they won so comfortably that it even makes me feel jealous. He became Chief Minister with cutouts and holograms everywhere. Even after travelling politically for 15 years, I have not seen such a victory,” Pawan Kalyan said, openly expressing his feelings.

Political observers say there has been a visible shift in Pawan Kalyan’s approach in recent months. During internal party meetings, he has reportedly been stressing the importance of strengthening the Jana Sena Party independently, regardless of alliance politics. He has also expressed concern over leaders becoming inactive after receiving positions in government.

This seriousness is now reflecting in organizational decisions as well. Following internal issues and factional disputes within Jana Sena in Prakasam district, Pawan Kalyan reportedly ordered a major restructuring of the party unit. The district committee led by ODA Chairman Riyaz was dissolved, and several constituency in-charges and party office-bearers were relieved of their responsibilities.

In another significant move, he entrusted former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, who recently joined Jana Sena, with overseeing party strengthening activities in Rayalaseema, Prakasam, and Nellore regions. This is being viewed as a strategic attempt to expand the party’s base in areas where Jana Sena has traditionally been weak.

Political analysts believe Vijay’s rapid rise and the public comparisons that followed may have pushed Pawan Kalyan to focus more seriously on grassroots organizational development — an area critics often felt Jana Sena had neglected for years.
