Abhishek Nama’s Nagabandham, starring Virat Karrna, is emerging as one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema this year. With its theatrical release set for July 3, producers Kishore Annapureddy and Nishita Nagireddy of NIK Studios have shared insights into the passion, belief, and vision behind the film.

The producers revealed that filmmaking was not their original profession. “After running a successful software company, we wanted to explore new industries. Cinema fascinated us as it blends creativity with business. When Ravinder Reddy introduced us to Abhishek Nama’s script, everything changed for us,” they said.

They added that the story itself justified the massive investment. “The scale was never forced. The narrative demanded it. As the project progressed, our confidence kept growing, and eventually we invested over ₹110 crore because we fully believed in the film.”

Despite casting relatively new actor Virat Karrna in a pan-India spectacle, the producers said it was never seen as a risk. “We explored many options before finalizing Virat. Once we met him, we were convinced he was the right choice. His dedication, transformation, and commitment have been outstanding,” they noted.

They also praised director Abhishek Nama for striking a balance between practical filmmaking and visual effects. “One of the biggest challenges was deciding where to build large-scale sets and where to rely on VFX. Every ten minutes, audiences will witness something visually striking. We wanted each frame to evoke a sense of wonder,” they explained.

Spirituality, they said, played an important role throughout the journey. “The Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple set has amazed everyone who visited it. Many felt it closely resembles the real temple. These moments strengthened our belief that divine blessings have been part of this journey,” the producers shared.

They also linked their experience to spiritual faith, noting that even during the Rath Yatra, despite heavy rains, the procession continued smoothly, with visuals going viral on social media.

With high expectations surrounding Nagabandham, it remains to be seen how the film will perform upon release.
